Electrology Education

Consult with KBOC before starting any electrolysis school or any type of training for electrolysis because the nuances of acceptance of hours for electrologist licensure has changed over time.

KBOC educational requirements for electrology students are 500 clock hours frrom an electrology school which KBOC will accept OR 1000 clock hours apprenticeship from a KS state licensed electrologist with an KS electrology instructor's license. KS does not currently have any in-state electrology schools

KBOC contracts with the National Testing Network to administer these examinations and provide candidate services for the KBOC.

The Electrology Candidate Information Bulletin has

the information you need to complete the exam process to receive your earned electrology license. See:

I'm Licensed
Now What?

Once you are licensed you will want to join the Kansas Association of Professional Electrologists. One of our purposes is to cultivate camaraderie and communications between members as we learn from speakers and each other.

Also, the American Electrology Association offers many membership benefits and once you have been in practice for a year you will be eligible to take the voluntary Certified Professional Electrologist (CPE).
